According the project AFIS(ZA) six seniors of Petrasiunai Community centre had an interesting visit to Bialystok. During three weeks (from 25-th of May to 13-th of June) the ladies – Romualda Anduziene, Danute Varkaliene, Janina Olbergaite, Danute Sivickaite, Genovaite Mikenaite, Maryte Janauskiene – was volunteering in the Hospice, worked with children of special care (children with Down’s syndrom) from the Educational Centre in Białystok, had various workshops with project partners from The University of the Third Age in Bialystok. As ladies told, this time was appointed for volunteering, teaching and learning, conferences and sightseeing tours.
After the visit in Bialystok volunteers invited others seniors from Petrasiunai Community Centre to share with their experiences and impressions, to show photos and video. Tomas Senuta, the coordinator of project, told about presentation of Lithuania, Kaunas and Petrasiunai Community Centre for the friends in Bialystok, about the meeting with historian, professor Mestwin Kostka who told much about the history of Polish-Lithuanian relations and very interesting discussion between the professor, Polish and Lithuanian seniors.
